There are numerous ways to classify the birthstones. During the ancient days, a lot of people consulted the professional astrologers to identify the right stone, which would enhance their lives. It has been rumoured that such birthstones were formerly used by the people of Israel. People during those times did not know much about the gemstones existing today. It contradicts the modern list since there are more than one stones attached to any particular month. The stones could also be classified on the mystical properties that they carry. Birthstones by Zodiac: This is the list of birthstones which were associated to the astrological signs. Each stone was linked to the attributes of the zodiac signs and then suggested to the wearer. In the modern society, the zodiac signs certainly predate the names of the months when it comes to deciding the stones.
